Dear Friend yours of Nov 1 was Duely Received Saying you had Colected the Claim I held against Doct Lykins and part of what Mr Wright oed me, and you had invested Some in winedot Lands – and you would Send me a Map of your New Town and the Land you purchased for me – I have Ben waitin week after week But no Lettr Comes as yet – you Said you would Send it in a few days I would be verry Glad to See your map and Know Whare your new Town Lies, whare does it Lay from Mr Armstrongs a Winedot indian Who Lives in a Brick house on the top of the hill - I alwais thought thare would be a verry good Chance for A. Town in that vicinity – I Should be Glad to have an intrest in the Town – Say two or three Shares if they dont Come to high – you Say you will invest for me as fast as I will furnish the means – I Should Like to Know Whare and how you have invested what means you have in your hands – and what prospect thare is for investment – I would Like to have you invest what means you had in your hands – in Something that will pay and if the prospect is good for investing more I Suppose I Could rais a Little more and Send you But I Should want to be pretty Shure that it would pay as

the yankee Says – My Means you know is rather Limited – I already have in Kansas just about one half that I am worth But my Credit is good and I Can Comand almost any amount But I have got to old to Run any Grate Risks – But I had made up my mind to run the risk with what I had already invested thare I had two objects in view first to make money secondly help the Caus of freedom in Kansas – I will Send your notes to you any time when you direct – for the one half of Mass Lot 33 & [xxx] – I will Send you Such a title as I have got any time when you Say – I am in hopes you will get your Town mattrs arranged thare Soon So that we Can get good Titles to our Lots – pleas wright me on receipt of this – you asked me to see Gov Robinson while East he was on his Return thare when I received your Lettr I Learned he only Stoped a few hours at Belchertown – I Should have ben glad to have seen him – we are all well and felling pretty well Except when I Read the presidents Message or his Law Mean Bilinsgate Slang he ought to be ashamed of it if he is not – I am – we are glad to hear that things Look A Little more favorable for peace in Kansas – if you Could Send Lecompt up with Titus or his Corporal South America I Should have Some hopes of peace in your midst – our Free State people are having pretty warm work in Washington at this time I hope they will prevent Whitfield getting a Seat
