Enclosed please find a letter from Hon Timothy Dwight of new Haven commending Mr Lyman the bearer if this – Both of these gentlemen are connected with the E.A. Co. chartered in Conn. & are desirous of cooperating with us to some extent in the work of forwarding men to Kansas.

This Co. has no connection with the American Settlement Co or the N. Y. League both of which we have some reason to distrust
