Leavenworth County} S. S.

March Term. A. D 1856

The Grand Jurors for the Territory of Kansas for Leavenworth County – Sworn to enquire upon their oath present that one H. Miles Moore late of the County aforesaid on the twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Six, in the county aforesaid and within the jurisdiction of the said Court. Unlawfully and without any lawful appointment or deputation there to did then and there take upon his self the office of Attorney General of the State of Kansas (meaning then by the Territroy) of Kansas, the said office then and there being an office of trust in the said Territory, and that he the said H. Miles Moore without any Lawful appointment or deputation so to do, then and there did exercise the power to do the acts appertaining to the said office. Contrary to the form of the Statutes in Such case made and provided, and against the Peace, Government and dignity of the Said Territory.
