Letter, J. [James] H. Lane to Sir [John Brown] Author: Lane, James Henry, 1814-1866 Date: September 7, 1857 James H. Lane, whose extant correspondence is scarce, here wrote from Lawrence to John Brown regarding his (Lane's) efforts "in perfecting an organization for the protection of the ballot box at the October Election," and Lane encouraged Brown to come "with all the materials you have."
