Constitution of the Susquehanna Western Emigration Company Author: Bayless, John ; Susquehanna Western Emigration Company Date: December 7, 1854 This printed version of the Constitution of the Susquehanna Western Emigration Company introduced the Company to the public, specifically individuals in and near the counties of Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego in New York State, who were eligible for assistance from the Company. The Constitution also mentioned the desire of the Company to settle a "corporate town" that would "secure all the commercial, social, and religious privileges of the old States". Citizens of said township would also be required to support temperance and freedom.
