Letter, ladies of Orange, N.J. to Dear Sir [Thaddeus Hyatt] Author: Ladies of Orange, New Jersey Date: October 20, 1856 This letter, written by the ladies of Orange, N.J., informed Thaddeus Hyatt of their donations for the free state inhabitants of Kansas, including foodstuffs, a variety of clothing and sewing material. This is an excellent example of how women in New England supported the free state cause.
