Photograph, Orville C. Brown Author: No authors specified. Orville C. Brown was an early settler and founder of Osawatomie. He actively sought to develop the town by building a common school and by obtaining a printing press. He was involved in free state activities and in efforts to raise funds for relief. His house was burned down during the battle of Osawatomie. This photo was taken later in his life.
