Certificate for distribution of Leavenworth town lots

Date: October 17, 1854
The certificate, issued to Henry Miles Moore, secretary of the Leavenworth Town Association, detailed the town lots distributed to Moore as a town association shareholder. Moore held four shares in the Leavenworth Association and was entitled to thirty-two town lots.

Letter, John N. Dyer to Gov. A. H. Reeder

Date: November 7, 1854
John N. Dyer, Pawnee, KT, wrote Reeder to say that the Pawnee Town Association, which had been formed in November 1854 and of which Dyer was secretary, had voted to admit the governor "as a member with equal rights, and responsibilities, as the original members." The letter was written on the 7th about a meeting on the 6th of November; perhaps this was the association's first meeting, since they reportedly organized sometime in November.

Stock Share Certificates, Susquehanna Emigration Company
Authors: Susquehanna Western Emigration Company
Date: January 20, 1855
These certificates for one and two shares in the Susquehanna [Western] Emigration Company entitled the bearers to one-half acre of land per share in the new township, which was to be settled by the Company, in Kansas Territory. Both certificates bear the signature of John Bayless, President of the Susquehanna Emigration Company.

Town Share Certificate, Pawnee Association
Authors: Pawnee Town Association
Date: May 2, 1855
This certificate (no. 244) is made out to F. L. Crane. On the back was a notation made by Crane, probably at a later date, indicating that he had paid $250 for the share and that A. H. Reeder had intended that Pawnee be the state capital.

Contract, Between Leavenworth Town Association and John A. Halderman

Date: June 25, 1855
Signed by three trustees of the Leavenworth Town Association (Oliver Diefendorf, William S. Yohe, and J. M. Day), this contract or agreement sold lot #19 in block #17 to J. A. Halderman for $175.00. The specific terms of the agreement were described.
